Dear WallFire Users,
Over the past 12 years, WallFire Networks has offered free email hosting to many of you via Microsoft Exchange. This service has been a labour of love for me, and had cost me tens of thousands of dollars of personal investment in hardware, software, power (including cooling), and bandwidth. I have never charged for these services, as this is not a for-profit endeavor for me.
Recently a couple of key individuals indicated that they we no longer going to use WallFire.Net mail as their primary messaging system. This news prompted me to look for another opportunity for cost savings.
In the next week, I will begin migrating the WallFire Exchange 2010 organization to Google Mail. All existing email addresses will continue to function throughout the migration as mail is switched over to Google. Some of you live in foreign lands and it may be hard to connect with you. At any rate, I intend to perform this migration quickly and will attempt to minimize pain as much as possible.
Next, Google Mail isn't free either! They charge per mailbox, though even this charge should be far less than what I am paying for today. For family, I will cover the costs initially. For friends, let's talk.
If you are a principal user of WallFire Mail, please reach out to me. My mobile number is +1-510-552-1095 and my email is support@wallfire.net

WallFire would like to welcome our newest server, Masumi, to the WallFire family. Masumi will be serving Microsoft Exchange 2010 mailboxes to our user base and will eventually be replacing Jessica, who is moving to another role within the organization.
Please join the staff in welcoming Masumi to the team.
Masumi, though seemingly personified, is embodied in a Dell PowerEdge 1850, loaded with 10 GB of RAM, running Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 Edition. WallFire's plan is to migrate the majority of mailboxes to this new system over the next two weeks from the date of this post.
If you have a ActiveSync handheld device or OutlookAnywhere connected client and notice a loss of connectivity, please update your server entries to reflect "masumi.wallfire.net", replacing "jessica.wallfire.net" and begin using the new Webmail login link in the top left of this page. If you have any trouble, feel free to contact a WallFire representative for further assistance.
